Privacy Policy

The short version

Notchalant has no account system, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking SDK and no Notchalant server for your scripts or recordings. Apple handles App Store purchases and iCloud sync for supported settings.

What stays on your device

Your scripts, recordings, microphone input and camera input are processed locally on your Mac or iPhone. Voice Sync uses on-device speech recognition when a local model is available; if a language has no on-device model, the prompter falls back to a fixed pace rather than sending audio elsewhere.

Recordings are stored locally on the Mac. On iPhone, a finished take is saved to Photos only when you choose to save it.

iCloud

Core prompt settings — things like font size, pace and countdown — may be mirrored between your own devices through your private iCloud account, using Apple's key-value storage. Notchalant operates no cloud service of its own and cannot read this data. Scripts and recordings are not synced by Notchalant today.

Purchases

Notchalant Pro subscriptions are sold and managed by Apple through the App Store. Billing, renewals, refunds and cancellation are handled entirely by Apple. We never receive or store your payment details. Notchalant uses Apple's standard Terms of Use.

Permissions

Notchalant asks for camera, microphone, speech recognition and Photos access so that you can film yourself, use Voice Sync, and save finished recordings. Each permission is requested at the moment the feature is first used, never at launch, and every feature that depends on one degrades gracefully if you decline.

Children

Notchalant is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this same address and the date above will change.
